Is Resume Studio free?+
Yes, building and previewing your resume is completely free. You only pay when you export the finished PDF, and you can see exactly what that PDF will look like before you spend anything.
How does pricing work?+
You pay per resume export, not a subscription. Exports are sold in packs, the bigger the pack the lower the per-export price, and they never expire. See the pricing section on the home page for current prices.
Is there a subscription?+
No. There is no recurring fee and nothing to cancel. You buy resume exports once and use them whenever you like.
Do I need an account to start?+
No. You can build and preview a resume straight away without signing up. You sign in (by a magic link sent to your email, no password) when you want to save your work across devices and export.
Building & exporting
Is the live preview really what I get?+
Yes. The preview and the exported PDF are produced from the same renderer, so what you see on screen is exactly what exports, down to the spacing and fonts. There is no separate export format to drift from the preview.
What file format do I get?+
A PDF with real, selectable vector text (not a flattened image). It is the single export format, tuned to print correctly on both A4 and Letter.
Are the templates ATS-friendly?+
Many are. Templates marked ATS use a clean, single-column, header-first layout with selectable text that applicant tracking systems can parse. Every export is selectable vector text rather than an image.
Can I switch templates without re-typing everything?+
Yes. Your details are stored separately from the design, so you can switch template or color scheme at any time and your content carries over.
Can I edit my resume after I export it?+
Yes. After your first paid export you get a free window (24 hours) to edit and re-export that resume as many times as you need. After the window closes you can still re-download the exported version for free; editing it further starts a new draft.
Can I add a profile photo?+
Yes, on the templates designed for one. Photo templates show a placeholder you can replace with your own image; it is cropped to fit and reused across every photo template.
AI help
What can the AI features do?+
Two optional things: import an existing resume PDF to pre-fill the editor, and help you draft or improve your summary and experience bullet points. They are suggestions you review and accept, nothing is applied automatically.
Do I have to use AI?+
No. The AI features are entirely optional. You can write everything yourself; the AI is there only if you want a starting point or a sharper rewrite. The AI features require you to be signed in.
Privacy & refunds
Where is my data stored, and is it private?+
Your resumes and account are hosted in Sydney, Australia. We do not sell your data or use it for advertising. You can export or delete your data at any time from your account. When you use an AI feature, the relevant content is sent to our AI provider (Anthropic) only to produce that result, and it is not used to train their models.
Can I get a refund?+
Unused resume exports can be refunded within 14 days of purchase. If an export fails for a technical reason, it is automatically returned to your balance, so you are never charged for a broken export. See the Refund Policy for the details.
Which spellings and currencies do you support?+
You can pick English (US), English (UK), or English (Australia) spelling for the editor's spell-check, and prices can be shown in USD or AUD.
